Dynamic Symbols

Animated Ray Charts
I am including in this presentation a new and dynamic way of looking at an individual's rays and how they would look displayed in a circular chart. This new type of circular ray chart could equally be done with one's astrological influences as well as with group charts or the ray influences of nations.
Eventually cosmic alignments to any of the six constellations linked to our solar system and to the seven cosmic paths will require a whole new range of living and vibrant symbols hitherto unknown. This is one of the reasons for writing this commentary — a recognition of the need to render and design graphically the seven cosmic paths given by DK in two of his books. (See excerpts on the seven cosmic paths from the Bailey books, and seven cosmic path graphics on the Light-weaver.com website.)
The quality of the symbols we choose to meditate on will determine the speed and accuracy of the precipitating revelation they veil and reveal. Two other quotes by DK further qualify the importance of color, geometry and sound in understanding the true inner person. This quote also presents the idea that we are all classified by four distinct yet interpenetrating qualities — color, sound, number and geometry.
"Every individual vibrates to some particular measure. Those who know and who work clairvoyantly and clairaudiently find that all matter sounds, all matter pulsates, and all matter has its own color. Each human being can therefore be made to give forth some specific sound; in making that sound he flashes into color, and the combination of the two is indicative of some measure which is peculiarly his own. "Every unit of the human race is on some one of the seven rays; therefore some one color predominates, and some one tone sounds forth; infinite are the gradations and many the shades of color and tone." (EP1:126-127)
"The value of what I impart now consists in this: — that in the study of colour (which is one form of the study of vibration) comes the ability to understand personal vibration, to attune that vibration to the egoic one, and to synchronise it later with that of the Master." (LOM:215)
Chart 1 Sample of as a Ray Chart as Bar Graph Click to see larger image.
Let me give an example of how this applies to a student of the ageless wisdom. If I say a student has a 7th ray personality and a 2nd ray soul, many students of the works of AAB know that the 7th ray is associated with the color violet and the 2nd ray with indigo blue, esoterically speaking. There are also sounds that parallel these colors and numbers. It is not within the scope of this brief article to discuss all of these qualities or attributes, so I will focus primarily on color. An individual's sixfold ray chart rendered in a horizontal or bar graph might look something like Chart 1. Chart 2 shows the ray combination in clearly delineated concentric circles, three primary — monadic, soul and personality — and the lesser three that make up the personality's three lower vehicles — mental, astral and physical.
Chart 2: Clear Delineation of Rays Click to see larger image.
Chart 3: Rays Begin to Interpenetrate Click to see larger image.
Chart 4: Fusion with Monadic Ray Dominating Click to see larger image.
These concentric circles which depict the rays are in reality in a constant state of rotation and are a far better and more accurate representation of the rays according to DK when the big picture is seen. The Tibetan has also asked the earnest student to see the soul and spiritual hierarchy as a vortex that is made up of many forces in motion. The third chart shows these same six rays clearly present but now they begin to overlap and interpenetrate giving a much brighter and more colorful representation of all the rays. The fourth and last chart in this series shows the fusion at the end of a major cycle with the monadic ray or color dominating.
The first three charts viewed here showing the distinct separation of the rays appeal more to the lower mind, while the last chart appeals to the higher mind or intuition. The small but bright point of light at the center of the monad in the fourth and last chart is the spark of fohatic Will that eventually leads the Master onto one of the seven cosmic paths. The last and final chart shows how the rays become progressively blended during the divine initiatory experience and how they may interact to create a living organism on the inner planes. It becomes an energetic entity much greater than the sum of its parts.
This blending of the ray colors visually is not my personal interpretation of how I think these colors might look. They have been blended and fused in Adobe Photoshop in a system that is scientifically accurate and able to show over one million color variations in great detail. The Adobe Photoshop blurring tools simply fuse and blend a series of distinctly different individual colors into a more synthetic or homogeneous whole. By animating these Ray charts that we have just shared we can take the idea of Synthesis to a new and more expanded level. It is in this way we can get a more psychic or intuitive sense of these forces and how the Master sees them on the inner planes.
What is interesting when one studies his own unique ray makeup is that as we advance down the path of initiation the ray influences adjust and change. Although one or other of the rays may dominate for a certain cycle, they nevertheless move into each other's orbit and cause what I have called, for a lack of better word, mutated or secondary colors.
Another quote by the Tibetan that can bring some clarity to this new and dynamic way to envision the rays, the planes, and how they might be revealed in a circular chart is taken from Letters on Occult Meditation:
"When the centers are radiating they swing into each other's orbit so that the initiate becomes a centre of living light and not a composite of seven radiant centers. Think on this." (LOM:192)
The rays seen clairvoyantly on the inner planes are not like clearly delineated plates stacked separately one upon the other, but rather like circulating rings that move mathematically in pairs and groups blending and fusing with other rays, or driven by polar tension in an opposite direction to create magnificent mutations and variations of color, sound or geometry. Students of the Tibetan will recall the beautiful description in Letters on Occult Meditation of the interaction of the rays and the planes:
"We enumerated the colours yesterday and in a certain order. I seek again to enumerate them thus, only this time reminding you that the one Ray of which all the others are but sub-rays, might be regarded as a circle of sevenfold light. Too apt is the student to picture seven bands, striking down athwart the five lower planes till they contact the earth plane and are absorbed into dense matter. Not so is it in fact. The seven colours may be regarded as a band of seven colours circling and continuously shifting and moving through the planes back to their originating source......These seven bands of color emanate from the synthetic Ray. The indigo sub-ray of the indigo Ray forms the path of least resistance from the heart of densest matter back again to the source. The bands of color form a circulating ring which, moving at different rates of vibration, passes through all the planes, circling down and up again. What I seek to bring out especially here is that these seven bands do not all move at the same rate, and herein lies hid the key to the complexity of the matter. Some move at a swifter rate of vibration than do some of the others. Hence — as they carry their corresponding monads with them — you have here the answer to the question as to why some egos seem to make more rapid progress than do some others."
"These colored rings do not follow a straight unimpeded course, but interweave in a most curious manner, blending with each other, absorbing each other in stated cycles, and grouping themselves in groups of threes or fives, yet ever moving onwards. This is the real foundation to the diamond pattern upon the back of the serpent of wisdom. Three major lines of color should be portrayed as forming the lattice work on the serpent's skin, with the four other colours interweaving. Some day some student of colour and of the Divine Wisdom should compile a large chart of the seven planes, and superimposed upon those planes should be placed a seven-colored serpent of wisdom. If correctly drawn to scale some interesting geometrical patterns will be found as the circles cut across the planes, and some impression will be conveyed occularly of the complexity of the matter of the seven rays." (LOM:212)
Another quote by the Tibetan that gives additional insight into this wide diversity of color relationships of the rays and planes.
"The buddhic plane is peculiarly the plane of violet, even though all colours find their place there." (CF:328)
How can all colors be found upon the buddhic plane? By virtue of the fact that each plane, as the earnest student knows, has seven additional subplanes and each of these subplanes is colored by its own unique color relationships. This is the rationale of how seven different planes expressing seven different qualities of force, color and sound can connect and interact with each other without violating the integrity of each plane's own unique qualities.
Chart 5: Seven Rays in Rotary Motion Click to see larger image.
This can equally be said of the rays. Each of the seven rays has seven subrays, and it is through these additional seven subsidiary ray colorings that all seven rays have a common point of connection, a meeting point, with all other of the rays. An example of this idea done in a bar or horizontal chart form might look like image 1 in Chart 5. Each ray expression interacts and influences all the other rays around or within its periphery. When we take into consideration that each of the seven rays have the other six rays built into their basic constitution in a lesser degree, we see a whole new area of visual dynamics not easily discernable by looking at a simple bar graph.
Chart 6: Seven Rays in Rotary Motion Enlargement Click to see larger image.
Image 2 in Chart 5 depicts what these same seven rays and their seven subsidiary rays might look like under initial rotary motion. Image 3 shows what they would look like fully rotated at high speed. Image 3 is the same identical image as 1 and 2 with the addition of the great second ray of indigo blue added as a background color.Symbols of this quality, as shown in Chart 6, can be used for meditative purposes and are enlarged here for the viewer's use.
These abstract and paradoxical truths which are difficult if not impossible to understand through the written word become more dynamic through the use of graphic images. The long term goal for this work is to go one step further and animate them. The nature of the lower mind is to analyze and divide into clearly delineated areas, i.e., compartmentalization. Yet unless the disciple begins to see how all of these apparently separate and diverse rays, bodies, and planes can come together to make a "living organism" he will be unable to comprehend what is taking place on more abstract and intuitive levels. A more seventh ray adaption of this theme will be presented in another paper. For now it is only necessary that the student see how the very forces that build, sustain, and eventually destroy on all levels are much more dynamic and synthetic than previously thought or imagined.
These next two charts depict these same seven rays and how they might look interacting with the seven planes. First we see in Chart 7 a horizontal and vertical bar graph of the rays and planes. Chart 8 portrays the same identical image under the influence of rotary motion.

CYCLIC SPIRAL MOTION OF THE SEVEN PLANE–SPHERES
DK speaking of the rotary and cyclic motion of the seven plane-spheres and how they interact or are an extended aggregate with other more advanced spheres can be a somewhat archaic and a difficult concept to understand without an advanced visualization capacity, or some type of image or symbol to focus upon. His description in the next quote sounds interestingly familiar to what we know in this 2020’s period as fractals or holograms.
“His mode of action is cyclic and spiral, the revolution of the wheel of existence in ordered cycles for a specific purpose, and the progression of these spheres of matter around a fixed center, within the solar periphery.
These three concepts are governed by the Law of Attraction, or the law governing the interplay or the action and reaction.
a. Between the Sun and its six brothers.
b. Between the circling whirling seven planes of the solar system.
c. Between everything in the matter of all forms, the spheres of matter themselves and the aggregate of those spheres that are embodied in the forms of still others.” (TCF 146)
The reader must understand that A.A.B. in telepathic report with DK not only received texts impressions and passages of words, but also myriads of different symbols and 4th dimensional processes at a time when even the best of artists could not render. This is where modern audio-visual aids can assist us and give these passages a fuller and much deeper meaning.
DK via A.A.B, often gives the reader so much technical information within such a short space, it is sometimes easier to assimilate by condensing and truncating his different outlines into its simplest terms and returning later for a second read to understand the important but secondary details.
Let us view the next animation and then summarize DK’s key thoughts.

“Mode of action is cyclic and spiral…. the progression of these spheres around a fixed center…..the circling whirling seven planes of the solar system. The spheres of matter themselves and the aggregate of those spheres that are embodied in the forms of still others.”
THE EYE OF GOD
One of the startling insights suggested by this rotation of the seven ray colors is that one is now viewing an immense eye. Students of divine geometry and symbology will recall how so many different spiritual traditions use the "Eye of God" as a powerful metaphor for what is hidden and unknown but slowly being objectified and revealed. The Masonic Eye of God placed directly at the center of two interfaced 90-degree symbols, the compass and the square, is just such an example.
As we will attempt to demonstrate here and elsewhere, the idea of God as an immense eye may have a far more occultly scientific basis then has hitherto been realized, and is in reality one of the key forms energy and force take when under the impact of rotary and cyclic-spiral motion. The theme of vision in connection with the seven rays is presented in another way in Figure 18, which appeared at the start of this paper and is repeated here. The seven eyes as seven rays can be explained in this way: The three primary rays — rays 1, 2 and 3 — are masculine, more like mountains protruding up, and the "four eyes downward turned", the secondary rays, are like receptacles or chalices.
Since all rays and planes are predominantly devic life being manipulated or directed by the will of some greater entity, we will next attempt to show this organic relationship by focusing on the devas' unique contribution. The devas are the elastic electrical and magnetic substance that connect one ray or plane to another.

The figure titled number 2 in chart 5 that we earlier shared is of the 7 rays or planes, and seen as a composite, is visually fixed in the early stages of its first rotation. This next animation shows that same identical image set to rotary and cyclic-spiral motion. Here we will see this image become momentarily freed from its fixed and inert state. It is a common characteristic of the lower mind to classify many of the component parts of the occult path for it’s for detailed and fixed observations. The lower mind is a good place to start in our long journey to fiery perfection, but not one to get stalled out in. These commentaries, and the liberal use of animation and 3- dimensional charts are an attempt to remedy that problem when the student has been unable to take their occult work to the next level.
(Lisa Gerrard sings in a language she created "to talk to God".)
One can easily see from this animation the serpentine and sinuous nature of the rays or planes as they may actually exists on the inner planes, and why the disciple who has chosen a certain spiritual path that includes a vigorous use of the higher mind as well as the intuition and spiritual will is designated as a Dragon or Serpent of the Divine Wisdom.
It is here we now enter into a difficult place of description since all the 7 rays and planes are activated, guided, and perform some service to a higher power then themselves, a power that we call for a lack of a better description, the Will of God. We find to paraphrase H.P. Blavatsky, that only by following the many broken and tangled threads of our existence can we circuitously wind our way back to that unknown center of our true Spiritual Being. The Doctrine of the Eye must eventually be supersede and eclipsed by the Doctrine of the Heart.
SERPENT OF WISDOM
No attempt is made here in the previous animation shared of the 7 rays, with their respective colors, to reproduce the request by the Tibetan for a student of color and the Divine Wisdom to someday render a large chart showing the interaction of the rays and planes. (See Letters on Occult Meditation page 212). That creative clarification will be undertaken in a different section of this commentary. This previous animation does however show the vortical and sinuous nature of energy which is very serpentine or snake like in appearance when seen clairvoyantly on the inner planes. The 7 rays and the 7 planes are very malleable and in constant motion. The illustrious H.P. Blavaksky wrote in her book The Secret Doctrine about how “Fohat, the messenger of the Divine Will, drills holes in space.”
In this animation we can come to understand visually in some small way how rotary motion, where energy simply rotates around a common point, and demonstrates the 3rd aspect of deity of active intelligence, must eventually break free and fall under the influence of the great 2nd ray and its cyclic-spiral motion.
We will discuss progressive motion, an expression of the 1st aspect of deity in another commentary. Paradoxically progressive motion in its highest form is no motion at all, but drives the other 2 types of motion just mentioned into some type of activity and movement.

The idea of movement or expansions of consciousness along waves of living sound or colored rays of light is far more literal than one might imagine. Remember that color and sound are interchangeable and, esoterically speaking, synonymous terms.

The aphorism "Traveling on wings of sound and light" can be interpreted as more than some vague poetic metaphor; it is one of the major keys to all occult expansions. If we may take the liberty to formulate this highly occult and esoteric process in the vocabulary of the personality, we can say that there is no bridge that cannot be built, no road that cannot be traveled on the inner planes of one's spiritual being if the disciple understands the science of sound and light, and how each level of reality however humble in the early stages of its recognition, penetrates through devic vibration to the next higher level.
Let us give a more scientific image and explanation of these connecting devic principles.
Chart 9 Atomic Subplanes Click to see larger image.
Yet a great step will have been made for, under the Law of analogy, he will then be in a position to comprehend some of the major secrets of solar manifestation; for the planes of our solar system constitute, as we know, and as this Treatise seeks to demonstrate, the seven subplanes of the cosmic physical plane. (CF:1028)
Each of the atomic subplanes in the solar system is closely interrelated with the others, and the seven atomic subplanes of all the planes form a unity, and are essentially the cosmic physical plane as the term is occultly understood... Therefore, the devas of Group A are the concentrated creative force of the subplanes, the origin of the objective side of physical manifestation, and the source of the seven Breaths of the creative Logos on the physical plane. (CF:655)
The seven colors we have chosen for the 7 planes are more closely allied with the 7 rays but for purposes of simplicity we have used them here. The subject of the planes and the rays and their mutual interaction we will discuss later.
Figure 23 Transmitters of the Word Click to see larger image.
As we can see from this illustration the devas on any of the different planes 1-7 have a direct connection to devas on all the other planes through their mutual subplane number and coloring. For purposes of immediate comprehension this color relationship is all that we will give here, but what can be said about color can also be said about sound and vibration.
To reiterate we can say that those devas who preside over the first atomic subplane of the physical-etheric have a direct connection to devas who preside on the first atomic subplane of the astral plane, who in turn have a connection to the devas who preside on the first atomic subplane of the mental plane. This same connection through the first atomic subplanes can be further extended to the first atomic subplane of the fourth plane, the buddhic, the first atomic subplane of the atmic plane, the first atomic subplane of the monadic plane, the first atomic subplane of the Logoic plane, and ending with the first atomic subplane of the cosmic astral plane, which is the second of the greater cosmic planes. This is how all these apparently different levels of spiritual life that the devas embody can seamlessly connect. Each plane (as shown in the image above has built into it a natural affinity and place of correspondence through its different subplane number and coloring to all the other planes.
"For Applicants: When the disciple nears the Portal, the greater seven must awaken and bring forth response from the lesser seven upon the double circle."
"For Disciples and Initiates: Let the group and within itself response to the greater seven groups which carry out the hierarchical will with love and understanding. The group contains all seven, the perfect group. The lesser seven, the greater seven and the planetary seven form one great whole, and these the group must know. When this is realised and the Law of the Supplementary Seven is understood, let the group understand the Three and then the ONE. This they can do with the united breath and the united rhythm." (R&I:148)
"First let us clearly define the various septenates referred to in this rule. I will first tabulate them in the order of their appearance and define them, and then I will enlarge upon them in order to point out where the training enters in, where the rule applies, and how the embodied rule is in the nature of a Law which the initiate may not evade."
"I would ask you here to refer to what I earlier said anent rules, laws and orders when starting with you this particular study.
1. The seven greater groups - The seven groups or Ashrams within the Hierarchy.
The Hierarchy
These carry out the hierarchical will, which is love.
They work through love and understanding.
Each is presided over by a Chohan and a group is called an Ashram.
These major Ashrams have many affiliated Ashrams, presided over by a Master on the same ray as the Chohan, and are capable at any moment of being absorbed into the primary Ashram.
The perfect or complete group is the Hierarchy itself, containing all the seven major Ashrams and their affiliates.
2. The Planetary seven groups - The seven rays, the central septenate of energy.
Shamballa
These embody the will of Shamballa, which is divine purpose.
They work as life energy, as quality, and produce appearance.
Each is presided over by one of the seven Spirits before the Throne; by one of the seven Ray Lords.
Each of these rays has its seven subrays which relate it to all the other rays.
These seven rays can, under divine purpose, be re-absorbed into the Three and then into the One.
3. The lesser seven - The seven types of men and also the seven root races.
Humanity
These embody the intelligence of the Logos as it expresses itself through creativity.
They are learning to work intelligently with matter in order to develop love in response to divine purpose — which is will or life.
Each of the seven types, responsive to one or other of the seven rays, is conditioned or ruled by its prototype, the soul on its own plane.
These major types or races of men have many subraces and subsidiary types, developed during the evolutionary process; all will eventually demonstrate the seven major types.
The perfect type is the Christ, the Heavenly Man, Who expresses all the major types and Who is the 'pattern of things as they are.'
4. The supplementary seven - The seven centres of energy in the individual man.
Humanity
These together embody the combined forces of the planetary life as registered by the perfected individual. They will eventually enable the man to achieve perfection.
They enable the individual to respond to material forces, to soul energy and spiritual life, and they constitute a complete response apparatus to the planetary life, purpose, intent and form.
Each of the seven centres is responsive to one or other of the seven rays and their qualities under the conditioning energy of the soul ray and the forces, emanating from the environment.
These centres develop progressively and under the impact of circumstances and the Law of the Supplementary Seven, but all will eventually express in some measure the seven types of ray energy.
The Law of the Supplementary Seven can be worded as follows:
'The Law demands the entrance of that which can effect a change. The Law demands that right direction should then guide the entering forces. The Law demands that the changes thus effected remove the form, bring quality to light and lay the emphasis upon life. The Law demands that this is brought about by the One, working through the Three, energising the Seven and creating the straight line from there to here, and ending in a point which ignores the Three.'" (R&I:150-52)
"The Law of the Supplementary Seven is the great synthetic Law of Life or of Spirit and is the law with which the initiate works; it is this law he wields. From acceptance of the laws of nature and obedience to the laws of the soul, he passes into the positive phase of understanding and wielding the Law of Life. Because this is a governing law for all initiates, and because we know that the nature of life-energy or of spirit cannot be grasped until after the third initiation, it is exceedingly difficult for me to write in explanation of this law. You have not yet the initiate consciousness. I have therefore had to express this law in terms of form, whereas the initiate understands it from its formless angle."
"This law is concerned with the wielding of energy in the world of the Spiritual Triad and not with the distribution or the transmission of this energy to the three worlds in which average humanity habitually dwells. Right wielding of this law (controlling energy in the initiatory world of causes) automatically brings about activity, movement, force expression, and right distribution of these forces in the lower three worlds. These are, under the evolutionary law, direct reflections of the three higher worlds of the triadal light and life. Motivation, the use of the eye of vision (turned this time by the initiate functioning in the world of causes upon the worlds of human living), and the correct direction of force in cooperation with the hierarchical Plan condition all the activities of the initiate working with this law. Clearer than this I cannot be."
"This Law of the Supplementary Seven is concerned with the inflow of energy from the seven planetary centres to the seven groups or types of men, via the seven groups within the Hierarchy. In this work of transmission the seven centres of the initiate are used as agencies; their work, therefore, is not the interrelated work of right transmission of energy within the septenary constitution of the etheric body of the individual initiate, implementing his life expression, but is the task of being responsive to the seven types of planetary energy which are received in a pure state. It is then channeled through the seven centres in the initiate's etheric vehicle and out into the world of men as regenerative and constructive forces. These living spiritual energies — transmitted by the individual initiate from the planetary centres — are handled by him under a great uniform plan and are the means whereby salvation (to use an old familiar word) can come to the aid of humanity. This is the "saving force" in its various aspects, of which the Great Invocation speaks: "The hour of service of the Saving Force has now arrived". (The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, page 249.) The high Initiates (Those above the rank of Master) work with the energies coming from the seven planets of the solar system at this time active; these feed or implement the seven planetary centres. But the Law of the Supplementary Seven is applied by initiates below the rank of Master, and they are therefore working solely with the seven centres within the Form of the One in Whom we live and move and have our being." (R&I:157-59)
In considering this Law of the Supplementary Seven, I would like to point out that the word "supplementary" is of real significance. It brings in a factor of great interest, from the angle of initiation. You must bear in mind that when the antahkarana is constructed and in use, there is consequently a free play of energy in a direct line between the Spiritual Triad and the personality; i.e., between the Monad and its "earthly anchor." You will also remember that the soul body, the form on the higher levels of the mental plane which has "shrouded" the soul, eventually disappears. This, as you know, takes place at the fourth initiation and is one of the best recognised facts in the occult teaching. In the three worlds, the correspondence to this disappearance of the form of the second divine aspect, the soul, is the dissolution of the astral body — the second aspect of the personality. Then the personality stands free from its control. Sensitivity and reaction to contact in the three worlds has been perfectly developed, but it no longer holds the disciple a prisoner.
Then, at a later stage upon the Path of Initiation, the causal body also disappears and the initiate stands free in the three worlds. The astral body and the causal or soul body are — in the language of esotericism — supplementary to reality. They have had a temporary reality during the evolutionary process, but (having served their purpose and having endowed man with certain required assets — consciousness, feeling, sensitivity, the ability to establish and register contact) they pass away and the initiate remains, possessed of power over form and a fully awakened consciousness. He is a soul and the fusion is complete.
What is true of the individual is true too of the Heavenly Man, the planetary Logos. In the long period of a world cycle there comes a time when the Hierarchy itself, as a body organised and functioning in order to implement certain evolutionary ends, is no longer needed. It is then regarded as "supplementary," and under the Law its life, its potency and its entire consciousness are absorbed into the planetary head centre, Shamballa. A great process of abstraction or of withdrawal takes place, covering necessarily a long period of time, and which is consummated only when evolution — as we know it — comes to an end and the planetary Life (again as we know it) also comes to an end. This process of abstraction is always going on. Men become disciples and then initiates. Some stay as hierarchical workers, choosing to work with the planetary forces of evolution. Others pass on into the great Council Chamber of the Lord of the World, and still others pass out of our planetary ring-pass-not altogether.
"Thus the Law of the Supplementary Seven is ever in force. It functions in the processes going on in the seven centres of the individual man, gathering energy from one centre into another until all are centred, controlled and directed in the head. In the stage of what the Hindus call "samadhi" the vital energies from all the centres are concentrated in the highest head centre in the etheric body, in the area just above the physical head. Thus the analogy is complete. The processes of abstraction are (as you may thus see) connected with the life aspect, are set in motion by an act of the spiritual will, and constitute the "resurrection principle which lies hidden in the work of the Destroyer," as an old esoteric saying expresses it. The lowest manifestation of this principle is to be seen in the process of what we call Death — which is in reality a means of abstracting the life principle, informed by consciousness, from the form or the bodies in the three worlds.
"Thus, the great synthesis emerges, and destruction, death, and dissolution are in reality naught but life processes. Abstraction is indicative of process, progress and development."
"It is this aspect of the Law of Life (or the Law of Synthesis as it is called in certain larger connotations) with which the initiate specifically deals when wielding the Law of the Supplementary Seven." (R&I:161-63)
Like attracts like and through the power of sympathetic vibration all levels can be connected. This is an aspect of the "Law of the Supplementary Seven" seen visually and is the basis of how all invocation-evocation works. It is the secret of how one life-form can invoke or align with a greater life if we are looking upward, or if we reverse this process and are looking downward, we can see how life from the highest levels descends and is distributed to a lesser life. I have used the phrase higher and lower but as we shall explore later in this commentary this is a misleading phrase regarding how the whole grand and elegant system may work through the contribution of the devas.
Chart 9 has shown an alignment between the first atomic subplanes of all seven planes (in red). The next Chart 10 will show the same relationship only with the third etheric subplane of each of the seven divine planes (in green).
Chart 10 Devas of the Third Subplane Click to see larger image.
In Chart 10 we also see one more fundamental difference that we have added. We have given the chart an indigo blue background and an additional dimension by whirling and rotating it before adding the texts and numerical relationships. As incomprehensible to the viewer as it may seem, Chart 10 is the same identical image as Chart 9 only spun at high speed. This spinning is not done in an attempt to create beautiful art, but to reveal visually the foundations of all occult sciences which are based on the movement of energy and force. This spinning gives the viewer an idea of the magic of rotary motion, its effect on color and light, and how these different colored lights can blend and merge creating infinite variations. It will also help create a bridge from the concrete levels of the mental plane to the more abstract levels of the mind and the intuition. (See the discussion of rotary motion in Appendix II.)
BODIES OF FLAME What we see in this next animation is the 7 major Devic groups just outlined and activated into radial motion, (like the proverbial dew drop that falls into the shining sea).
Chart 11 Meditative Animation Click to see Play Animation with Sound.
All stimulus comes originally from an unknown place of origin we call the Will of the Father, or the Divine Purpose, and this power as it descends stimulates all of the devic builders into some type of activity. These Devic groups take this greater stimulation and to the degree they can work with this force, step it down progressively from one level to another until it becomes grounded through the 7th ray onto the physical-etheric plane. The Devas then circulates back up to their place of origin, having performed some type of service, and having gained through this activity new and more refined qualities.
These Devic groups pass this electric and magnetic energy which makes up their nature through their bodies of flame to the next level without a break in the continuity of consciousness of the overriding parent force. The animation however limited in scope attempts to portray the Devas as living vibrant beings, that not only circulate, but palpitate and throb to the great Heartbeat of the Solar System which we know is dominated by the great 2nd ray of Love-Wisdom and is conditioned by the color of Indigo-Blue.
There are other number, color, sound and vibration relationships that should be studied and understood. The rays in the 1-3-5-7 line of descent will have a natural disposition and affinity for each other, just as the rays in the 2-4-6 line of descent do. The energy play in triangles — the manner in which energies circulate around three points or poles of the triangle — is another example. Without overcomplicating an already abstruse subject it must be kept in mind that colors are found on the inner planes in pairs and in relationships with other colors. As paradoxical as it may sound, the tension between different polarities, colors, sounds and vibrational frequencies can actually be used by advanced disciples to speed up and hasten their evolutionary progress on the path. Many types of "tension" debilitating to the aspirant and neophyte are a potential source of power in the hands of a skilled white magician. The chakras or energy centers, whether personal, planetary, or solar, can be considered dual. Although positive at one point in the initiatory experience, they can alternate and become negative or receptive at another point along the path to liberation. The whole process of evolutionary development seen from the personality's point of view can appear overwhelming in its complexity. To the initiated seer it moves ever towards simpler and more organic types of intuitive comprehension. To the white eagle of the soul that soars effortlessly over the jagged mountains, the limitations of the rocky terrain below go unnoticed in the expanded view.
Without this morphing from the stationary to the mobile it will be well nigh impossible for the viewer to grasp the essence of devic life when we later take this concept into full blown animation. If rotary motion best describes one of the key elements of the deva evolution in its natural state, we may gain many new insights into these illusive lives by viewing symbols that are far closer approximations to their true nature than the older and more restrictive forms of presentation. These graphic images can explain many of the apparent paradoxes to the occult student who is apt to overly concretize the concept of the devas who should be seen existing in a state of complete fluidity.

These simple tabulations explain why music and geometry are always prerequisites to the entry into all esoteric schools. To the human eye most things on the physical plane appear stationary and inert. To the inner occult eye everything is a veritable sea of coursing energies and forces.
The "music of the spheres" mentioned by generations of philosophers and poets is a description of these hidden and secret forces that a human being must come to understand, not as some textbook outline or definition but by the very study of his own conscious perceptions of himself. "Know thyself" is the injunction that is as old as history but only recently is finding a place of interest with large groups of spiritual seekers.
It is important that the student see a larger panoramic view of the interconnectedness of all of these seemingly diverse spiritual forces. Motion is the medium through which all occult lives change, grow, and adjust themselves to the impact of those life-forms greater than their own.
The survival and growth of any occult organism is the result of its intelligence, power and innate flexibility. The rays and planes as we have demonstrated are not necessarily made up of petals as has historically been described, (although men's thinking on this subject about their existence can have a reciprocal effect on the inner planes and actually create them in the different ethers) for those descriptions are only approximations. In reality and in their natural state the rays and planes are circulating bands and rings of magnetic and electrical life. The idea of a chakra involving petals such as a lotus blossom may said to be the closest physical approximation that men were historically given to grasp the illusive and ethereal quality of energy and forces that they would otherwise be unable to understand. True abstract thinking and intuition are so lacking in the average human being lesser substitutes for true direct comprehension are invariably used.
Dynamic Symbols: The Visualization of Chakra Petals
A vortex is the result of multiple lines of energy converging. When these energies cross and criss-cross, they create the appearance of petals.
Another image that will help clarify the idea of the chakras and how they come into existence can be seen below. We see that the petal formation in the image of this whirling chakra is the result of many lines of force meeting and blending. Chakras do not exist as an independent organism but are the result of many streams of force passing into each other's field of influence. Nothing is stationary or static on the inner spiritual planes.

This illustration is a good visual guide to the idea that all living organisms conform to some type of rotary motion. The vortex is not some peripheral idea but comprises one of the foundational teachings of all occult science that will be included in the new seventh ray teachings currently impacting the planet. DK expresses this idea in the next two quotes when he says:
"The symbology of the antahkarana tends badly to complicate the grasp of its real nature. May I remind you that, just as the soul is not a twelve-petalled lotus floating around in mental substance, but is in reality a vortex of force or twelve energies held together by the will of the spiritual entity (the Monad on its own plane), so the antahkarana is not a series of energy threads, slowly woven by the soul-infused personality, and met by corresponding threads projected by the Spiritual Triad, but is in reality a state of awareness." (DNA2:194)
"When meditating in the heart centre, picture it as a golden lotus closed. When the Sacred Word is enunciated, picture it as a lotus slowly expanding until the inner centre or vortex is seen as a radiating whirlpool of electric light, more blue than golden." (LOM:85)
"In the whirling of the force through the vortex (which whirling forms the petals of the lotus) it will be observed that certain petals predominantly stand out, and each centre demonstrates one particular type of cross." (LOM:85)

ENERGY PATHWAYS AND ETHERIC TUBES
The whirling of the force through the vortex DK is referring to in the last quote by him, is the result of the interaction of the rays and the planes, which driven by the power of the Divine Will rotate in opposite direction, crossing and crisscrossing each other to create a beautiful latticework of colored intertwined forces. This can equally be stated about the emanating sound that these two interacting forces create.
When these forces are synchronized or balanced at certain stated cycles and speeds, they give the appearance of petals appearing, and then disappearing to the observer. The flashing of electrical discharges seen passing back and forth at the center of the rotating vortex-sphere are an attempt to neutralize these two opposing forces and bring equilibrium or balance. If a triangle were created between any three of these petals seen in the fast-moving animation, we could grasp the interface of the spiritual vortex-sphere and the science of triangles which is such an important part of the Tibetan Masters teachings. The next quote by DK gives some key insights into the dynamic Science of Triangles and their very real existence, yet illusive nature to those who lack vision or the intuition to perceive them directly.
“I wonder if you can grasp at least partially and symbolically the fact that these triangles must not be thought of as placed, static and eternally the same, or even as three dimensional. They must be regarded as in rapid movement, revolving eternally in space and ceaselessly moving onward and as of fourth and fifth dimensional extension. There is no way of depicting them or of bringing them visually to your attention, for only the inner eye of vision can imagine their progression, position or appearance… Therefore, the entire cosmic web and solar system is an intricate, constantly moving, interwoven series of triangles wherein each point of a triangle emanates three lines or streams of energy (nine in all); it is likewise responsive to and receptive of the energies—likewise triple in nature—which lie within its periphery or sphere of influence and vibratory activity.” (Esoteric Astrology 418)
Only through modern audio-video animations will some of the deepest occult mysteries come to light. Many of the older metaphysical and Theosophical symbols of the past however useful at the time will clearly be superseded by teaching venues that demonstrate more living and vibrant representatives of these hidden processes.
"Having pervaded this whole universe with a fragment of myself, I remain."
In this graphic image we can see multiple, semi-permeable membranes of vortical energy which make up all lives seen on the inner planes, be it a person or a planet, and connect to even larger vortices and energy-tubes. All energy and force take a spherical shape, sometimes perfectly round, but often flattened or elongated at different ends, and from these designs they break down into progressively smaller vortical appendages: DK describes this dynamic in this way:
“It must also be remembered that the substance of which these etheric channels or channeling tubes are composed is planetary prana, the life-giving, health-giving energy of the planet itself. Through these tubes, however, may flow all or any of the possible energies—emotional, mental, egoic, manasic, buddhic or atmic, according to the point in evolution which the man concerned has reached. This always means that several energies are pouring through these tubes, unless the point in evolution is exceedingly low or unless one is dealing with a cleavage; these various energies are fused and blended together but find their own focal points in the etheric body when entering directly within the circumference of the dense physical body. Just as it can be said of the soul or of the Deity, so it can be said of the energetic or vital etheric body or entity: "Having pervaded this whole universe with a fragment of myself, I remain." (TEV 155)
Without some visual aid for reference it is almost impossible for the student to understand the complexity, and yet simplicity of these energies and forces as they move on the inner planes, hence the need for a new interpretation based on not only colored graphic images but animations. I am reminded of the philosopher Proclus who stated that when dealing with numbers, “that only the moving numbers can write the true thing”. Carrying that same logic to symbols of energy and force, which have a direct connection to numbers can only be understood when seen in motion.
“A while ago I used the word "tubes," thus inferring a network of tubes through which the transmitted energies can pour; here you have a case where words are wholly inadequate and even misleading. (TEV 163)

We have included in this section some additional images and information provided by NASA and the greater scientific community that clearly demonstrates that the occult symbols and energy descriptions shared by Yogis and Mystics for thousands of years were accurate, and are now being supported by recent scientific discoveries.
Scientists using the Murchison Widefield Array in the Western Australian desert have confirmed the existence of tubular plasma structures between the plasmasphere and ionosphere of our planet, approximately 370 miles (600 km) above the ground.

What we have just shared about the earth’s plasma tubes can also be demonstrated with Saturn and the other planets in our solar system.

These simple graphic images or animations interfaced with these passages from DK clearly reveal one of the most important paradoxes on the occult path - how any spiritual life described as a vortex of force at one time can also be clearly described as having a certain petal formation at another. The petal formation image is clearly an attempt by the lower mind to make moving currents momentarily stationary. In time when the student has done the preliminary work he will move beyond this preparatory stage of the petal formations and experience these rotating lives in there natural and organic state.
The disciple who has done the preliminary work but is overly dominated by a wide variety of mental complexities and personality details must eventually discover the simple audible devic life stream that will lead him to the Source of all life. It has been said that the average spiritual aspirant cannot "occultly hear" because he simply does not know how to listen. He is so full of his own knowledge and power, so entranced with his own sweet voice that he is incapable of tuning into the subtler grades of devic life. The Tibetan emphasized the need to recognize an inner silence:
"One of the primary conditions that a disciple has to cultivate in order to sense the plan and be used by the Master, is solitude. In solitude the rose of the soul flourishes; in solitude the divine self can speak; in solitude the faculties and graces of the higher self can take root and blossom in the personality. In solitude also the Master can approach and impress upon the quiescent soul the knowledge that he seeks to impart, the lessons that must be learnt, themethod and plan for work that the disciple must grasp. In solitude the Sound is heard." (DNA1:132 )
There are seven major rays of divine sound and light each of which has seven subtones and seven sub-colors making the 49 levels that relate to the 49 builders of the sacred fire. There are seven initiations for humanity; at each initiation a key devic color and note flashes and sounds forth. It is only in the recognition of these various notes and emanating sounds that the bridges into higher levels can be recognized and scientifically built. It is only in the recognition of these various emerging sounds and lights that the disciple can truly understand where he is situated on the occult path of return and what is the next step. Within light there is greater Light and within sound there is greater sound. Only in the science of agni yoga and its various allied principals and laws can the trained white magician discriminate between these different qualities of vibration within a veritable ocean of devic substance.
Figure 24 Cycling of a Ray through Any Plane Sphere Click to see larger image.
If meditated upon with the right interior concentration images of this luminosity can help us go beyond the influence of rotary motion and begin to sense the potential of spiral-cyclic motion. It is spiral-cyclic motion that expresses the consciousness aspect of creation and that with which all magicians must be trained to work.
There are correspondences and corollaries that must be found and explored, be it in the departments of esoteric healing, meditation, astrology, building the antahkarana, or simply in understanding how the rays interact with the planes. In a vortex funnel image we can see how seemingly separate forces come together to create one vibrant and living organism.
Here in these simple colored diagrams we can get a small glimpse into how the law of correspondence, the law of analogy and the law of supplementary seven may actually work. How through color or sound a lesser life can learn to contact or invoke a greater life. To quote the great maxim how "what is above is also clearly below". How the woof and warp of God's vestments or bodies actually work to create one synthetic and living organism or being. Yet like a multidimensional fractal you can separate any part of it and you will still have in miniature the potential of the whole.
Figure 25 Calabi-yau Space Click to see larger image.
These colored tabulations and charts can also give tremendous insight into the illusive deva and angelic kingdoms and how they work. The inner universe of energy and force is more in the nature of a great elastic and pliable cauldron of seething forces. Wheels, within wheels, within wheels to quote Cosmic Fire, but each prismatic sphere interconnected and fused with all other spheres in some way as they rotate, spiral and dance to a higher Will than their own. Prismatic fire and sonorous sound that thrills from the highest levels to the lowest, ever changing and evolving into higher and more ethereal expressions of spiritual life. Living substance that coincides and parallels with many modern discoveries in quantum physics. Recent discovery in string theory seem to suggest that all electrical and magnetic particles or waves on infinitely small levels take on a different geometric symmetry(super-symmetry) depending on their velocity or charge.Paradoxically the work of Calabi–Yau give hypothetical forms to these illusive forms of life.

The antakarana or rainbow bridge that all students of the ancient wisdom are attempting to build is not merely some figurative or symbolic image but is an actual description of multi-dimensional forces they must learn to manipulate and control.
We separate and divide the rays and planes into distinctly separate groups so that the lower mind can understand the laws and principals upon which modern occultism are built. This is good and according to law but the comprehension of these rays, planes, or bodies will change as the higher mind and intuition is awakened. During the initiatory experience preparatory facts become secondary to the revelation that we as monads, souls and integrated personalities are a part of one grand and sublime edifice that is seamless and ever moving.
These last several quotes by DK have particular relevance and show the way of the future in extending the ancient wisdom teachings into new, and what I believe are more progressive areas, by applying the combined arts of computer animation and graphics to the ancient wisdom traditions of divine geometry and esoteric astrology.
"When, therefore, the esoteric side of astrology, and of mystical geometry, has been studied, and alliance has been made between these two sciences, a flood of light will be thrown upon this matter of the intelligent principle; when the inner workings of the Law of Cause and Effect (the law whereby the Lipika Lords govern all Their action) is better comprehended, then — and then only — will the sons of men be able to study with profit the place of manas in the evolutionary scheme. At the present time it is not possible to do more than point out the direction of the path which must be trodden before this abstruse matter can be made clear, and to indicate certain lines of investigation which might (if strenuously and scientifically followed) yield to the student a rich reward of knowledge. Until the intuition is better developed in the average man, the very principle of manas itself forms a barrier to its due understanding." (CF:396-397)
From an artistic, as well as an occultly scientific point of view the next quote is also full of much potential for exploration and thought.
"Each life that the Personality leads is, at the close, represented by some geometrical figure, some utilization of the lines of the cube, and their demonstration in a form of some kind. Intricate and uncertain in outline and crude in design are the forms of the earlier lives; definite and clear in outline are the forms built by the average advanced man of this generation. But when he steps upon the Path of Discipleship, the purpose consists in merging all these many lines into one line, and gradually this consummation is achieved. The Master is He Who has blended all the lines of fivefold development first into the three, and then into the one. The six-pointed star becomes the five-pointed star, the cube becomes the triangle, and the triangle becomes the one; whilst the one (at the end of the greater cycle) becomes the point in the circle of manifestation." (LOM:5)
Looking again at these colored concentric ray charts let us reiterate what the Tibetan has said on what the work of the personality is in relation to sound, color and rhythm in Letters on Occult Meditation. These three qualities having a direct and intimate relationship to the science of numbers and cycles.
"When the Personality finds for itself (after lives of stress and search) its spiritual note with the right key and subtone, what is the result? It accords with its monadic note, it vibrates to the same measure, it pulsates with the same color, the line of least resistance is at last found, and the indwelling life is liberated and returns to its own plane. But this work of discovery is very slow and the man has to pick out the chord with infinite care and pains. First, he finds out the third of the Personality and sounds that forth, the result being an ordered harmonious life in the three worlds. Then he finds the dominant fifth of the Ego, the keynote of the chord, and sounds that in unison with the Personality note. The result is that a vacuum is formed (if I may so express it) and the liberated man with his informing soul, — the threefold spirit, plus mind and experience — the Three completed by the Quaternary and the Fifth, escapes upward to the Monad. It is the law of attraction demonstrating through sound. Like to like and kind to kind, driven thereto by unity of sound, of color and of rhythm." (LOM:57)
From this information and the use of these personalized ray charts certain alignments and visualizations can be uniquely tailored to each disciple's own initiatory status and ray make-up.
As I pointed out in the first part of this article and is worthy of reiteration once again here that advanced occult teachings in the future in my opinion will include symbols, charts and graphs expressed through animation or movement. Very little exploration has been done on the three types of motion spoken of by DK in A Treatise on Cosmic Fire. When color and sound and rhythm are combined with some type of animation or motion a whole new series of effects can be achieved.
In conclusion we may say that the rays, the planes and centers and the bodies of all evolving units of human life present an intricate mosaic of shifting and moving forces.Once an individual's six-fold ray constitution is established and certain color correspondences created, an individual's ray chart can be taken to the next level which would be a dynamic animation.
